My continuity of care spans from when you first receive a positive pregnancy test through to six weeks postpartum.
Step 1
Meet & Greet
Ensuring the right connection with your midwife is crucial.
I like to keep it real and:
- Get to know more about each other
- Share more about my approach to women-centred care
- Explore your individual needs & desires for pregnancy & birth.
If you decide you’d like to take this journey together, you will need a referral from your GP & then we can book your first formal antenatal appointment.
Time period: Anytime between 4-10 weeks gestation.
Location: Wellwood Health Centre in Loganholme
Step 2
Antenatal
During your pregnancy, I will see you for:
- Your initial booking-in appointment
- 5-12 long antenatal appointments (depending on individual care)
- Pregnancy care plan (28 weeks)
- Home visit to ensure it is suitable for a home birth & getting to know the second midwife (36 weeks).
As an endorsed midwife, I can order ultrasounds, blood tests, prescribe medications & provide referrals to specialists. This means you do not have to go to your GP or a hospital, unless required.
Time period: Anytime between 4-20 weeks for your first appointment through to birth.
Location: Wellwood Health Centre in Loganholme or in your home (travel fee applies).
Step 3
Birth
Time to meet your baby!
The second midwife & I will be on call for your birth between 37-42 weeks.
I supply a birth pool, pump & tap connector – as well as lots of love & care, empowering you to know that you’ve got this!
Time period: Anytime between 37-42 weeks.
Location: Your home.
Step 4
Postnatal
In the six weeks that follow the birth of your baby, I will come to your home as many times as you need for postnatal visits.
In these appointments, I will:
- Undertake regular health assessments of you & your baby
- Listen & talk about any postpartum issues
- Provide education & support around newborn adjustments
- Offer breastfeeding education & support
- Collect the Neonatal Screening Test
Time period: Up to 6 weeks postpartum. I will then discharge you back to your health care provider.
Location: Your home.

Please note the following conditions
- These appointments are based on the current Australian recommended schedule. You may require more or less appointments based on your individual needs.
- Minimum of 5 Long Antenatal appointments required as well as *** appointments.
- Minimum of 5 postnatal appointments required.
- Visits will be approximately 1.5 hours, except for Pregnancy Care Plan & 2nd Midwife Visits as they usually last for 2 hours.
- The Meet & Greet will be bulk-billed to Medicare.
- Antenatal home visits include a $10 travel fee.
- Medicare Safety Net – ensure that you are registered so you receive the maximum rebate available.
- Non-Medicare clients are welcome.
- Check with your Private Health Fund for additional rebates.
- I supply the birth pool, pump and tap connector.
- Pool liner is $80 and can be purchased from me.
