Private Midwifery Service

I now offer two models of care (MOC), providing families with safe, personalised, and collaborative options for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care.

Please note: Homebirth is no longer offered for new clients. Repeat clients may discuss this option with me directly.

✨ Model of Care 1 – Shared Care with Dr. Georgia Heathcote

This model of care is for families planning to birth at the Mater MothersHospital, Brisbane.

It is a Shared Care arrangement, with Dr. Georgia Heathcote as your primary care provider and myself as your private midwife providing continuity throughout pregnancy and into the postpartum period.

You receive the combined benefits of both private obstetric and private midwifery care, ensuring you are well-supported at every stage.

Step 1

Meet & Greet

This first step is a telephone consultation. As many families are already referred to me by Dr. Heathcote, the purpose of this call is simply to:

  • Confirm we are a good fit to work together
  • Outline my role within your care
  • Answer any initial questions you may have

Timing: Anytime prior to 20 weeks gestation
Location: By phone

Step 2

Antenatal Care

During pregnancy, I provide approximately 5 clinic appointments at Wellwood Health Centre in Loganholme.

Additional features of this care include:

  • Development of an individualised pregnancy & labour care plan
  • Option for a 37-week appointment with Charmaine Northey, who would attend your birth if I am unavailable
  • A care partnership that prioritises continuity, collaboration, and informed decision-making

💡 Please note: To ensure I can provide sustainable care to families long-term, I now work on a 24/5 availability model instead of 24/7. This allows me to rest and recharge, while still ensuring that you are never without support, thanks to backup arrangements with trusted colleagues.

Timing: From your first booking until birth
Location: Wellwood Health Centre, Loganholme

Step 3

Birth

I am available to provide intrapartum care and support at the Mater MothersHospital alongside Dr. Heathcote.

Together, we ensure you are fully supported with compassionate, individualised care that respects your autonomy, preferences, and safety.
